animal cloning

02/08/08 Animal cloning
Animal cloning can promise many things for the human society, we don’t have to worry about animals becoming extinct anymore. Cloning will also be useful for food even if more then half of the US doesn’t agree with animal cloning. People won’t have to worry about the cloned animals when their killed for food because the animals will be healthy enough to eat. According to a poll in 2006 by the industry-supported International Food Information Council (IFIC), which found that 59 percent of respondents wouldn't buy foods from cloned animals or their offspring even if the FDA said it was safe. Most people are against cloning and are just worried about the deaths of the animals and the failed pregnancy’s.

From 277 cell fusions only 29 embryos developed and were implanted in 13 mothers. Cloned animals could also be developed that would produce human antibodies against infectious diseases and even cancers. If cures are found by cloning animals why it is a bad idea, a lot of people can be saved from disease that we have no cure for. Other good reasons for cloning would be that scientist could make organs for people that really need them. Only 16 percent of America agrees with the cloning of animal’s food, the other 84 of America probably don’t know that cloning is not harmful to anyone and can actually help. Many people disagree that cloning would be a bad thing because it’s unnatural, why is it unnatural to clone another animal if it’s from its own cells. Cloning will probably will never be legal. The main reason is it would cost too much money and America just doesn’t agree with it.
